Un gran porcentaje de la poblaci\u00f3n infectada puede no tener s\u00edntomas (Hasta 80%), y cuando existen, las manifestaciones cl\u00ednicas casi siempre en el hombre son ardor o cosquilleo dentro del pene durante la micci\u00f3n, secreci\u00f3n blanca o transparente escasa que sale a trav\u00e9s del pene y que a veces se confunde con l\u00edquido eyaculatorio; en la mujer la mayor\u00eda de las veces es asintom\u00e1tica pero en algunas puede haber mal olor de los genitales, manchado de la ropa interior por flujo vaginal escaso y molestias vaginales en el acto sexual. El antecedente de un contacto sexual de riesgo entre 1 y 3 semanas antes de la aparici\u00f3n de los s\u00edntomas es frecuente. La importancia de esta enfermedad es por su asociaci\u00f3n con problemas de fertilidad al estrechar los conductos que llevan los \u00f3vulos o los espermatozoides y al disminuir la calidad del
